In ancient times, during an era when magic began to fade from human memory, the malevolent sorceress Mab (Miranda Richardson) created a powerful wizard to preserve her ancient powers. This wizard was named Merlin (Sam Neill). However, when Merlin fell in love with the beautiful Nimue (Isabella Rossellini), he abandoned Mab's dark plans. Joining forces with a young warrior who would later become the famous King Arthur, Merlin decided to use all his abilities for his cause: to bring peace and justice to a land ravaged by monsters and wars.
