Two transfer students, Atsuko Maeda and Onizuka Daruma, arrive at the all-girls school Majisuka Gakuen. In this school, violence and fighting are common among the Yankee students. Noisy troublemaker Daruma causes a stir as soon as she enters, winning her first fight but then getting easily beaten by another gang shortly after. In contrast to Daruma's bold but powerless attitude, Maeda, who is truly a strong girl despite her quiet nature, finds Daruma being beaten by Team Hormon before her. The phrase 'Majisuka?' (meaning are you serious?) instantly awakens her true nature, allowing her to easily win the battle against Daruma's attackers, creating a big fuss at the school that even reaches the strongest fighting group, Rappapa. Afterward, Daruma acknowledges Maeda as her boss, and thus, a friendship begins to grow between the two girls alongside their battles with fellow students at their school.
