London Bridge

London Bridge is a British television drama/soap opera produced by Carlton for ITV, airing in the London region. It ran from February 15, 1996, to March 31, 1999. The show featured many actors who later starred in larger TV productions, including Bad Girls actresses Simone Lahbib and Mandana Jones, as well as No Angels star Sunetra Sarker. London Bridge centered around a restaurant, SE1, and the adjacent block of flats. It began as a late-night drama with 26 episodes in 1996 before returning as a twice-weekly soap opera later that year. Although it was not as popular as other British soaps due to its regional airing, it often outperformed the rival soap Hollyoaks on Channel 4. The show was canceled in 1999 as all TV regions collectively revived Crossroads and introduced Night and Day to fill the scheduling gap created by Channel 5 acquiring Home and Away.
