Kuşlarla Yolculuk
The story begins with the traveler character representing the parrot in Mantıku’t-Tayr, who seeks refuge in a lodge while fleeing from bandits by following a parrot. The traveler does not enter the lodge merely as a guest; he brings with him the human stories he has collected throughout his life. Each story he tells awakens the hidden emotions and weaknesses of a dervish in the lodge, such as ambition, status, fame, gain, and love. The nine dervishes representing the nightingale, partridge, hawk, humma, owl, turtledove, goose, tail-feathered bird, and peacock in Mantıku’t-Tayr act under the influence of these hidden emotions and weaknesses, ultimately facing certain trials. At this threshold of testing, the guide represented by the Hoopoe symbol, the Sheikh, intervenes and, just like in Mantıku’t-Tayr, emphasizes the mistakes that weaknesses can lead to through symbolic stories, allowing them to continue their journey of spiritual development, or the journey to the Simurg on Mount Qaf.
