The adventures of Şakir, a lion cub, along with his family and friends are narrated. Şakir's father, Remzi, is a lion, his mother is Kadriye, and his sister is Canan, who is a cat. They also have a turtle grandfather named Peyami. Remzi has a friend named Necati, who is an elephant. He is often at their house, usually eating and playing games. There is also a street dog named Tanju, who is homeless, lives in garbage dumps, eats trash, and is crazy about wafers. He always hangs out with them. There is also a vulture named Kürşat, who is always involved in dirty work, along with his son Cemşit, who constantly engages in shady dealings with his two men. Cemşit is in the same class as Şakir. There is also a creature named Mirket, who is involved in science. Most of the time, when Şakir, Necati, and Remzi get into trouble, he helps them out.
