In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden named "itsukihime" in the mountain village of Kadono. Despite being a foreigner, a young man named Jinta, who acts as the shrine maiden's protector, encounters a mysterious demon in the forest who speaks of a distant future. Spanning from Edo to the Heisei era, this grand Japanese fantasy series follows a demon man who travels through time while constantly questioning the meaning of wielding a sword.
