With the help of her childhood friend, Kazuo Takahata, she uses her abilities to solve mysterious events. She rescues those in distress with her psychic powers, including telekinesis and telepathy. When she senses someone in need, she employs the "Teleportation Gun" (a heart-shaped brooch designed by Takahata) to transport herself to their location. Mami's teleportation is triggered only when a projectile is headed her way, and this locket, which shoots out tiny marbles, serves as a portable device for controlled teleportation rather than random chance. Her telekinesis can be precise to a cellular level, allowing her to remove cancerous cells from one of her father's art critics. Her telepathy enables her to tap into people's thoughts and dreams.
