This series revolves around gambling rivalries in China. It was 1935 in Shanghai when a young country lad, Ah Long, arrived in the city to challenge Tu Yi Xiao (the King Punter of the North). However, he soon realized he was outmatched and humbly begged to serve Tu as his apprentice. As a result, Tu's gambling business expanded rapidly, causing annoyance among rival gangs and sparking fierce rivalries.
