しばわんこの和のこころ
Based on a Japanese children's book by Yoshie Kawaura, Shiba-wanko, a Shiba Inu dog, and Miike-nyanko, a calico cat, live together in a classic Japanese-style house featuring a traditional alcove known as a tokonoma. Shiba-wanko is a gentle and hardworking soul who handles all the cleaning, laundry, and cooking in the house. Miike-nyanko, on the other hand, is quite temperamental and not very skilled at housework. Together, they learn the manners and customs associated with events such as the proper Japanese way to treat guests, preparing for the Japanese New Year, and how to enjoy the kimono, the traditional Japanese garment. Each chapter covers a specific topic related to living in "Wa" (the Japanese spirit of peace and harmony) throughout the changing seasons.
