Based on Fujio Akatsuka's subversive family comedy, the series follows naive 10-year-old Bakabon and his family: Papa, the patriarch and supreme fool, Mama, Bakabon's beloved mother and voice of reason, and Hajime, the newborn baby boy who, due to being in the womb for an extended period, has gained super-intelligence and a vast array of worldly knowledge. Much of the humor revolves around the foolish antics of Bakabon and his Papa, and the people who have to endure it.
