Hatsuki is a high school student living with her sister, Hatsumi, whom she has a huge crush on. On Hatsumi's 16th birthday, she is suddenly enveloped by a green light and vanishes right in front of Hatsuki! With the help of a being resembling a chubby baby chick (literally), Hatsuki manages to follow Hatsumi, ending up in a place called "The Great Library," which is filled with different worlds stored in books. However, Hatsumi isn't there, so the quest for Hatsuki's great love begins, involving travel from book to book.
