Masquerade (Kasou Taishou) is a semi-annual show on NTV where various amateur groups perform short skits, which are judged by a panel. In recent years, many skits have focused on clever ways of "faking" cinematic special effects on a live stage. The show is hosted by Kinichi Hagimoto and Katori Shingo. One of the most famous skits worldwide, and among the most successful at "fake special effects," is a skit widely known as "Matrix ping pong."
