A period drama that is not just about the Wild West. Set in 1865, after the North-South war, it follows a man who sets out to avenge his deceased wife and the construction of a railroad that will traverse the entire continent. Hell on Wheels is a town formed by the workers, managers, and the other segments of society that cater to their needs involved in this construction, but it’s not an ordinary town. As the tracks progress and the construction continues, the town evolves as well. In this backdrop, we witness the events that unfold, the wounds left by the Civil War, and the lives of African Americans who, despite being freed from slavery, are treated as captives.
