Set six years before the events of Barakamon, this story follows Seishuu Handa during his high school years—and what an interesting life it is! In Handa-kun, Seishuu is admired by his classmates as a calligraphy prodigy and is treated with great respect. However, Handa-kun mistakenly believes that the admiration and attention he receives from his peers is actually bullying. All he wants is to live a quiet life, but chaos ensues as one character after another challenges his status as the school idol, ultimately becoming a fan while Handa remains horrified and clueless.
