Young but brilliant academic Murat, who has spent many years abroad preparing theses on Turkey, returns to Turkey. He makes a life-changing bet regarding a beautiful gypsy girl named Hasret whom he sees in a neighborhood he visits with his friend: 'Can this neighborhood beauty become a lady or not?'. As the academic tries to transform the gypsy into a lady, he will confront the realities of the 'other Turkey', while the girl transforms into a bright star, and Murat will gradually realize he is falling in love with Hasret and witness how this claim unfolds.
