The story revolves around three troubled teenagers who find solace in their shared experiences as they strive to be the best family for one another. Growing up in dysfunctional families, these three individuals, who are not related by blood, treat each other like family because they long for the love they couldn't find at home. The eldest brother, Ling Xiao (Song Weilong), the second brother, He Ziqiu (Zhang Xincheng), and the youngest sister, Li Jianjian (Tan Songyun), grow up together, experiencing the joys and struggles of life while supporting each other's chosen paths. As Ling Xiao and He Ziqiu graduate from high school, they return to their biological families. Five years later, the three reunite, but the heartbreaks stemming from their complicated family histories linger like a shadow that won't leave them.
