Shizamu Toyohisa manages to fatally wound Ii Naomasa while battling in the Sekigahara War. However, he himself is severely injured in the process. As he walks through the blood-soaked battlefield, Toyohisa suddenly finds himself in a corridor filled with doors. The bespectacled man Murasaki waiting at the end of the corridor points to a door, and Toyohisa opens his eyes in a different world. There, he encounters other great warriors who have been transported like him and becomes part of a group called the Drifters.
