As a child, Park Hoon (Lee Jong-Suk) and his father are kidnapped by North Korea. In North Korea, Park Hoon is trained to become a doctor by his father, who is already a doctor. Park Hoon becomes a genius in the field of thoracic surgery and later escapes to South Korea. Park Hoon begins working as a doctor at Dongwoo University Hospital, the best hospital in South Korea, but he feels like a complete outsider. He is willing to do anything to earn money to bring the woman he loves from North Korea.
