Carl² is a Canadian animated series that explores what would happen if a teenager had a clone. The cartoon blends biological studies with the ups and downs of normal teenage life. Carl Crashman is a lazy 14-year-old who excels at one thing: slacking off. After a tough day and fed up with doing things he despises, he finds himself blogging online and venting about his life when he accidentally orders a clone from a spam email using his fingerprint, a yearbook photo, and a worn-out band-aid; Carl is stunned when an online cloning company sends him an exact replica of himself in a box. He names the clone C2. Although C2 looks, talks, and walks like Carl, he is more ambitious, hardworking, and charming, much to Carl's advantage. Since C2's arrival, Carl has been slacking off even more. However, C2 often does the opposite of what Carl wants. Carl decides to keep C2 a secret from everyone except his best friend Jamie James. The show's theme song illustrates C2's initial arrival at Carl's home. There are two different versions of the theme song, each featuring a unique opening sequence and slightly varied lyrics. As of Season 2, the opening sequence includes more details on how C2 was created in the cloning lab.
