Bintang, a quiet and polite little girl, is a new student who has moved from the Netherlands. As she struggles to adjust to her new friends in Indonesia, she befriends Bulan, a tomboyish and brave girl who is stubborn and wild. Their contrasting personalities often lead to clashes. Tensions arise when Bintang discovers that Bulan's mother, Yunisa, wants to marry her father, Dewo.
