'Black Books' centers around the grumpy, alcoholic, and eccentric bookstore owner Bernard Black. The duo of drunkenness and annoyance that Bernard dedicates his life to also spills over into the life of his assistant Manny. Manny, who is the complete opposite of Bernard, a kind-hearted soul, constantly faces the wrath of his boss simply for existing. Their oldest friend Fran drops by to distract them. The only threat in this triangle of books, wine, and conversation is the characters' own limitless foolishness.
