The year is 2048... John Kennex is a police officer who has been in a coma for 17 months due to an attack on the police department, abandoned by his girlfriend, and has a mechanical leg in place of the one he lost during that time. He finally returns to duty and, as per regulations, partners with a robot, despite his dislike for robots. When his first robot partner makes accusatory remarks about his past, he gets rid of it, leading to the decision for him to partner with Dorian, a model that is no longer in production. Dorian is an android that can occasionally exhibit emotional responses.
