A Praça é Nossa is a Brazilian comedy show broadcast by SBT. It was created in 1956 by Manuel de Nóbrega, originally titled A Praça da Alegria. The show features a simple and practical setting: a bench in a square garden, where various characters come and go. It premiered on television in 1957 on TV Paulista, led by its creator until the early 1970s. By that time, the show had already moved to TV Record and TV Rio. After a hiatus, it returned to the air in 1977-78 on Rede Globo, this time hosted by Luís Carlos Miele. In 1987, the program was revived on Rede Bandeirantes under the title Praça Brasil, presented by Manuel's son, Carlos Alberto de Nóbrega. After four episodes, Carlos Alberto transitioned to SBT, where he launched a new program with the same format: A Praça é Nossa. The comedy premiered on May 7, 1987, and has been on the air ever since. Actor Clayton Silva was a regular on the series from 1987 until 2013.
