Sonali Bendre was born on January 1, 1975, in Mumbai, India. Coming from a Marathi-speaking Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu family, Sonali continued her education in Bengaluru and Mumbai at Kendriya Vidyalaya Malleswaram and Holy Cross Convent High School. She later transferred to Welham Girls' School in Dehradun. On November 12, 2002, Bendre married film director Goldie Behl, and on August 11, 2005, she gave birth to her son Ranveer at Breach Candy Hospital.
Sonali Bendre began her career as a model and was invited to Mumbai after participating in the “Star Dust Talent Search” competition. Here, she trained under some of the leading actors in the Indian film industry. In 1994, she took on her first role in the film “Aag” alongside Govinda.
