As we approach the third season of The Vampire Lestat, the story takes on a more personal dimension. Louis (Jacob Anderson) spends time with Regina, who resembles Claudia (Delainey Hayles), while Lestat (Sam Reid) quickly realizes that Regina is actually someone different. This situation leads Lestat to question his own inner conflicts and past mistakes.

Following his interaction with Regina, Lestat returns to the studio to focus on his music career and record his first album. The song in this episode stands out as one of the most heartfelt pieces he has written about one of his greatest failures. However, creating this song proved to be quite a challenging process in terms of both composition and performance.

In an interview with Collider, it was stated that Lestat's most difficult song is "Stained Glass Eyes." This song encapsulates Lestat's most significant memories of Claudia and carries an emotional depth related to the events of the last episode of season 2. The show's music director, Daniel Hart, explained that the song was rewritten from scratch three times to truly come together. Each time, it was revisited with different musical styles and lyrics.

As a result, the role of this song in episode 5 is of great importance and emerges as a task given to Hart by writer Rolin Jones to write a song about Claudia. Lestat's confrontation with his past and emotional depth seems poised to offer viewers more immersive moments in the upcoming episodes.
