The Terminal List, part of Prime Video's original productions, is a strong contender to become one of the platform's most successful action franchises. Starring Chris Pratt, the series is adapted from Jack Carr's novel of the same name and follows a Navy SEAL facing a complex mystery. James Reece loses all the members of his platoon after a covert operation in Syria. Upon returning home, the murder of his wife and daughter drives him to uncover the truth behind the events in Syria.

The plot thickens as Reece battles a severe brain tumor that affects his memory and judgment. During his investigation with journalist Katie Buranek (Constance Wu), he uncovers a list known as the "terminal list," which contains the names of individuals who are typically killed by Reece. The Terminal List stands out with its intense action scenes and violent fight sequences shaped by producer Antoine Fuqua's vision.

Despite receiving negative reviews, The Terminal List has secured both a second season and a prequel series titled Dark Wolf. Dark Wolf focuses on Reece's former friend and Navy SEAL Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch). Edwards plays a significant role in the original series, and Dark Wolf narrates how he arrived at this point without any crumbs left behind. In fact, Dark Wolf features even more violent scenes than The Terminal List and showcases Edwards grappling with the dark sides of war and human nature.

The approach of The Terminal List is quite similar to the Jason Bourne films and shares much more in common with another Prime Video production, Reacher. Both series have achieved great success for Prime Video and solidified the platform's position in the "dad TV" category. The success of The Terminal List franchise demonstrates that Prime Video's investments in the action genre have been a wise choice.
