The original film of The Hunger Games series has captured the audience's attention ahead of the release of the new prequel, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, which will hit theaters in November. The film, released in 2012, is currently among the top ten most-watched films on the AMC+ platform in the United States. The upcoming installment, 14 years after the franchise began, will focus on events that took place 24 years before Jennifer Lawrence's portrayal of Katniss Everdeen and will be adapted from Suzanne Collins' novel of the same name, published in 2025.

Directed by Francis Lawrence and written by Billy Ray, The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will feature a very large cast. Joseph Zada will play the young Haymitch Abernathy, while Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Elle Fanning, Kieran Culkin, Mckenna Grace, and many other famous actors are also part of the project. It has previously been announced that original series stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will also take on some roles in the film.

The extensive fan base of The Hunger Games series clearly demonstrates the interest in the new film. Four films have been released between the original film and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay - Part 1, Mockingjay - Part 2, and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. These films have also played a significant role in the franchise's success.

The entire Hunger Games series has generated over $3.3 billion globally. With the new film's release, it is highly likely that this figure will exceed $4 billion. The success of the first film is quite impressive; with a budget of $80 million, The Hunger Games became one of the highest-grossing films of 2012, earning $678 million worldwide. Of this amount, $408 million came from the domestic market, while $270 million was generated from international markets.
