Taron Egerton Joins HBO's "I Love LA" Series
Rachel Sennott's comedy I Love LA, which satirizes the young and ambitious circles of Hollywood, is expanding its cast for the second season.
The most notable name in the newly announced cast by Deadline and Variety is Taron Egerton. Alongside Egerton, Jamie Chung, Benjamin Norris, Dylan Arnold, Jessy Hodges, and Milan Carter will also appear as guest stars in the second season. The identities of their characters have not been disclosed yet.
Six new names are joining the second season
The new cast includes recognizable names from various television and film productions.
Taron Egerton is known for the Kingsman films and for portraying Elton John in Rocketman; Jamie Chung is recognized for Lovecraft Country; and Benjamin Norris is known for Never Have I Ever and Abbott Elementary.
Dylan Arnold's filmography includes Oppenheimer and You, while Jessy Hodges has worked on Barry, and Milan Carter has been involved in Fubar.
For now, HBO is keeping under wraps how these names will be integrated into Maia and her friends' story.
Filming has started in Los Angeles
The production of the second season of I Love LA is currently underway in Los Angeles. The new season is said to consist of eight episodes, but the release date has not yet been announced.
Rachel Sennott returns as Maia, while Odessa A’zion, Josh Hutcherson, Jordan Firstman, and True Whitaker maintain their positions in the main cast.
The series tells the story of young manager Maia, who is trying to rise in the entertainment industry, and how her career and personal life are disrupted by the arrival of her influencer former college friend Tallulah in Los Angeles. HBO describes the series as the story of a group of interdependent and ambitious friends navigating life and love in Los Angeles.
The first season also featured many guest stars
The announcement of new names as guest stars rather than regular cast members aligns with the structure used in the first season of I Love LA.
In the first season, names like Ayo Edebiri, Leighton Meester, Elijah Wood, Moses Ingram, Froy Gutierrez, and Quenlin Blackwell appeared in various episodes.
It has not been disclosed how many episodes the six new guests will appear in during the second season.
I Love LA was renewed for a second season early
HBO renewed I Love LA for a second season in November 2025, even before the first season was completed. At that time, the series had only released three episodes and had reached an average of about 2 million viewers per episode in HBO and streaming viewership.
In addition to being the creator and star of the series, Rachel Sennott serves as an executive producer alongside Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri, and Lorene Scafaria.
Which characters Taron Egerton and the other five new actors will join in the ever-growing landscape of Los Angeles remains one of the details currently kept secret for the second season.
