Studiocanal has signed a three-year cinema distribution agreement with Sun Africa Group (SAG) to strengthen its presence in one of South Africa's leading film markets. This agreement covers a series of feature films produced in English, and SAG will handle the theatrical releases of Studiocanal’s main English film series.

Under the agreement, SAG will also manage the theatrical releases of Studiocanal’s animated productions, films from the 6th Dimension label, and some South African productions developed in collaboration with local broadcaster M-Net. This partnership aims to ensure a regular presentation of both international and local films for South African audiences.

The first film to be released will be the thriller titled "Pressure," directed by Anthony Maras and starring Andrew Scott, Brendan Fraser, and Kerry Condon. Additionally, other productions such as "Full Phil," featuring Woody Harrelson and Kristen Stewart, which was screened at midnight in Cannes, will also be released under this agreement.

This partnership strengthens the existing relationship between the two companies. SAG had previously collaborated with Studiocanal on the distribution of the drama film "We Live in Time" in South Africa. To further enhance its presence in South Africa, Studiocanal has also announced its new project titled "The Road Home," which will be directed by Oscar-winning Bill Condon, with filming set to begin at the end of June.
