Brandon Sanderson's The Stormlight Archive series has become one of the most prominent epics in modern fantasy literature since it began in 2010 with The Way of Kings. With its unique world-building, Radiant Orders, and Surgebinding magic, the series has garnered a large fanbase, positioning Sanderson as one of the most influential authors in the genre. Now, a new adventure in this universe is beginning: Stormlight: War for Roshar.

Announced by Brotherwise Games, Stormlight: War for Roshar is described as a new "epic battle game" set in Sanderson's iconic universe. The game will be showcased for the first time at the Gen Con event happening at the end of this month. This event, taking place from July 30 to August 2, will offer an experience that Stormlight Archive fans won't want to miss. Additionally, it has been noted that the official Kickstarter campaign will launch this fall.

While there aren't many details available about War for Roshar yet, Dragonsteel Books provided a small hint about the game's content in a teaser announcement made at the end of last year. The game is described as a "three-hour battle game where coalition forces fight against Odium's powers." Brotherwise stated that this project is "complex" and will continuously encourage players to "team up with their allies while avoiding flipping the table."

Stormlight: War for Roshar aims to blend the tactical depth of the battle game with the accessibility that Cosmere fans would expect from a binding game. For now, this is all we know about this strategy-based board game, but more details are expected to be revealed after the initial presentations at Gen Con.
