In the dark comedy remake Over Your Dead Body directed by Jorma Taccone, Jason Segel and Samara Weaving tell the painful story of an unhappy couple. Weaving explained in an interview with Collider that being part of this project pulled her back to the horror genre, from which she had been away for a long time. Segel and Weaving shared the challenges they faced and their fun memories during the filming of Over Your Dead Body.

In the film, Segel and Weaving portray Dan and Lisa, who choose a weekend getaway to save their marriage. Unbeknownst to each other, they both plan to kill the other to collect the insurance money. However, their malicious plans are turned upside down when three suspicious characters, played by Timothy Olyphant, Juliette Lewis, and Keith Jardine, come into play during their visit to an isolated cabin.

The filming process was quite challenging due to Finland's harsh winter conditions and the makeup materials used that resembled blood. Weaving noted that there was intense makeup work to make her look bloodied on camera, and this created interesting moments as she was about to return to social life. She recounted that when she went to a grocery store right after filming, people kept their distance from her due to her appearance.

Segel shared similar experiences, stating that during his grocery visit after filming, despite the makeup being completely cleaned off, people found him strange due to his unusual look. Even when he was sitting in the car, staff tried to prevent him from leaving, thinking he was under the influence of drugs.

Over Your Dead Body was made in a challenging environment that tested Segel and Weaving's determination and acting skills. Finland's freezing waters and intense blood effects pushed the actors to their physical and psychological limits. It is clear that this film played a significant role in Weaving's return to the horror genre after many years.
