The Champion of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 Has Been Revealed: Myki Meeks Takes the Crown
The Hollywood Reporter
The finale of RuPaul's Drag Race Season 18 took place, and Myki Meeks emerged as the champion. In the final held on Friday night, Darlene Mitchell, Myki Meeks, and Nini Coco were the top three contestants. Each drag artist performed with their original song, but it was Myki and Nini who were chosen by RuPaul as the season's first two queens.
Darlene Mitchell was named the second finalist and jokingly asked RuPaul, "Are you sure?" before stepping off the stage. During the awards ceremony, Jane Don't won the Audience's Favorite Award through a viewer vote. Although Jane Don't did not win Season 18, she was one of the standout names throughout the season, and her elimination in episode 13 was a surprise.
Miley Cyrus was present at the finale to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. The top two queens performed a "Lip Sync for the Crown" to Miley's song "Every Girl You've Ever Loved." Both contestants delivered impressive performances, but the winner was Myki, who earned the title of America's Next Drag Superstar. The Season 17 champion Onya Nurve presented Myki with the crown and scepter.
Myki, hailing from Orlando, Florida, became a dominant force in the latter part of the season, winning the last three challenges in the finale back-to-back. With a total of four challenge wins, Myki joined the elite list of queens who have won four episodes during the season in the RuPaul's Drag Race universe.
