Quiver Distribution has acquired the North American rights to the film “Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day,” starring Haley Bennett, Lily Allen, Jack Whitehall, Jennifer Saunders, Timothy Spall, and Elyas M’Barek. The domestic rights in the U.S. are jointly represented by WestEnd and WME Independent, while WestEnd handles international sales. The film is a comedy adapted from Woolf’s early novel, set in early 20th-century London amidst decaying Edwardian patriarchal attitudes.

Directed by Tina Gharavi, the film is known for the BAFTA-nominated work “I Am Nasrine,” with a screenplay written by Justine Waddell. The story follows Katharine Hilbery (Bennett), a passionate young woman dreaming of becoming an astronomer, who is drawn to the stars and Cambridge University. As her controlling father (Spall) tries to pull her away from her scientific pursuits and forces her to marry an old family friend, William, she defies the expectations placed upon her and joins the Suffragette movement led by the inspiring and outspoken Mary (Allen).

Quiver Distribution co-presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman commented, “'Virginia Woolf’s Night & Day' is a cleverly written, funny, emotional, and wonderfully performed film. Haley Bennett delivers an extraordinary performance, and Tina Gharavi and Justine Waddell have created a fresh and entertaining film that audiences will truly connect with.”

Waddell stated, “We all know Virginia Woolf as a very serious writer who inspired ‘The Hours’ and wrote ‘Mrs Dalloway.’ Our story asks the same questions about purpose, identity, and love, but does so with humor and subtle wit.” This film promises to offer viewers both an entertaining and thought-provoking experience.
