New Series on Prime Video: Off Campus, An Ideal Choice for Heated Rivalry Fans
Collider
For the past few months, Prime Video has been in the spotlight with the finale of Eric Kripke's beloved superhero satire series The Boys. The characters Billy Butcher, played by Karl Urban, and Hughie Campbell, portrayed by Jack Quaid, took the drama and action to new heights throughout the fifth season, culminating in an explosive finale this week. According to Nate Richard's review from Collider, the finale ended with a note that was "rushed but generally satisfying." Now, Prime Video is preparing to transition into the post-The Boys era, and there’s a series that symbolizes this shift.
The series in question is Off Campus, based on Elle Kennedy's book series and widely regarded as a perfect alternative to HBO Max's Heated Rivalry. The show features star names like Ella Bright (The Crown) and Belmont Cameli (Until Dawn), alongside talented actors such as Josh Heuston (Dune: Prophecy), Antonio Cipriano (Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin), Jalen Thomas Brooks (The Pitt), Mika Abdalla (The Pitt), and Stephen Kalyn (Gen V). Off Campus premiered on May 13, releasing all eight episodes at once on Prime Video, quickly gaining popularity worldwide.
Less than a week after its premiere, viewership numbers continue to rise rapidly. As of this writing, Off Campus is one of the most-watched series on Prime Video in the U.S., and it ranks second globally following The Boys. The series stands out as the most-watched production on Prime Video in several countries, including Switzerland, South Africa, and Canada, and is expected to rise to the global number one spot following the finale of The Boys. As anticipated, the series has also received a second season renewal.
