Noah Kahan Took the Stage at Rolling Stone's First Festival
The Hollywood Reporter
Noah Kahan headlined the first Stateside music festival organized by Rolling Stone magazine in Kingston, New York. This event marked an important step as it was the magazine's first use of its brand name for a music festival. The festival was packed with a crowd of 4,000, and Kahan will perform four sold-out shows at Fenway Park in Boston this week.
Before Kahan took the main stage, Gigi Perez performed but had her set cut short due to a storm. The storm halted the festival for about 90 minutes, but Kahan delivered a 75-minute performance on July 4, singing hit songs like “Stick Season,” “Dial Drunk,” and “Great Divide.”
Stateside focused on folk, Americana, rock, and country music for the Independence Day showcase. Artists such as Sydney Rose, Arcy Drive, Bo Staloch, and Bebe Stockwell also performed at the festival. Additionally, names like H Ingram, Derby, Michaela Anne, Calder Allen, and Devon Gilfillian participated in the event.
For Rolling Stone, Stateside is part of the magazine's efforts to create new revenue streams beyond its traditional print and digital income. The magazine had also ventured into live events by acquiring the Life is Beautiful music festival in Las Vegas in 2022. In addition to his performance at the festival, Kahan was featured on the cover of Rolling Stone in June.
This year has been quite busy for Kahan. He released his well-received fourth album, The Great Divide, in April and also premiered a documentary titled Noah Kahan: Out of Body on Netflix this year. The artist's star continues to rise rapidly.
