Nikki Glaser Humorously Roasted Katy Perry, Hailey Bieber, and Victoria Beckham at the Time 100 Gala
The Hollywood Reporter
Comedy star Nikki Glaser served as the host at the 20th Time 100 Gala held Thursday night at Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York, playfully targeting celebrities honoring the world's 100 most influential people. Glaser transformed the event into a roast show in her characteristic style, throwing light jabs at names like Katy Perry, Hailey Bieber, Victoria Beckham, MrBeast, and Kate Hudson, as well as at Time magazine itself.
Glaser opened the event by saying, "Welcome to the Time 100, the one list you actually want to be on this year." In her comedic style, she joked about Hailey Bieber, mentioning her makeup and skincare empire and how she convinced millions to spend $30 on smoothies. Regarding MrBeast, she implied that she was a follower of the YouTuber's bad nephew and that he would give away $100,000 if they stayed standing for two hours.
For Victoria Beckham, Glaser remarked on her transformation from a global pop star to a serious fashion designer, noting that she is married to David Beckham and is rich, successful, and stunningly beautiful. She then humorously asked, "How much will it annoy you to smile?" About Kate Hudson, she mentioned that she could relate to her because she too has lost many men in 10 days and is almost famous.
For Noah Kahan, Glaser described the famous singer-songwriter by saying, "If you can’t find him in the room, just a hint: he looks exactly like the guy who sold you weed at a Dave Matthews concert in 1998." Glaser also made subtle jokes about the K-Pop group Demon Hunters performing at a boat show in Boise instead of their song "Golden," saying the event was trying to get them a book deal.
Glaser's presentation was filled with moments that elicited laughter from both celebrities and the audience. Her success in setting the tone for the comedy event solidified her position as one of the most successful roast hosts in the industry, making the Time 100 Gala unforgettable not just for its impact but also for its entertainment value.
