Netflix's beloved young adult series Heartstopper will conclude not with a final season, but with a cinematic film. The production, known as Heartstopper Forever, will be released on the Netflix platform on July 17, 2026. Created by Alice Oseman and directed by Wash Westmoreland, the film is adapted from the sixth volume of Oseman's Heartstopper graphic novel series and will present the final chapter of the love story between Nick Nelson (Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke).

Heartstopper, which began in 2022 and gained the audience's affection throughout its run, will air its final episodes in October 2024. The relationship between Nick and Charlie, which started as a friendship at Truham Grammar School, has firmly settled in the hearts of fans over four years. Now, nearly two years later, fans will see the conclusion of Nick and Charlie's love story in a highly anticipated finale.

In the film project, Kit Connor and Joe Locke will reprise their lead roles and also serve as executive producers. The cast includes other valuable actors from the series, such as William Gao, Yasmin Finney, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Rhea Norwood, and Leila Khan. During the announcement, Netflix shared a short video compilation highlighting the actors' journeys throughout the series' seasons.

The development of Heartstopper Forever was approved in late 2024 and has entered production. The film is expected to faithfully reflect the themes and emotional depth of Oseman's original graphic novels. Young adult book adaptations have made a strong start in 2026 with the release of Finding Her Edge on Netflix in January and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping hitting theaters in November.
