In Season 23 of NCIS, Alden Parker's Sister Harriet Makes an Emotional Visit

The 23rd season of NCIS is witnessing significant developments in the Major Crimes Response Team's recent episodes. In the episode titled "Deal with the Devil," airing on May 5, Supervisor Special Agent Alden Parker (Gary Cole) is fighting against a criminal released due to a secret immunity deal, while an unexpected visitor awaits him. Parker's sister Harriet, a character introduced at the beginning of the series and played by Last Man Standing star Nancy Travis, witnesses her brother's complex situation during this emotional encounter.
In the released special clip, Harriet visits the incarcerated Parker, where they share both light banter and a deep emotional conversation. The steps Parker takes to achieve justice have led him to violate the law, and now he could face potential jail time if the lawyer across from him decides to press charges. Although news of Wayne Rogers' immunity deal has spread quickly, Harriet is frustrated by her brother's tendency to bend the rules and put himself in danger again.
The death of their father at the beginning of the season and Parker's near-death experience in the search for Carla Moreno (Rebecca De Mornay) still linger fresh in Admiral-class Harriet's memory. Even a year later, the possibility of losing her brother again worries her, and it remains uncertain whether Parker will allow the legal system to take its course. The episode "Dance with the Devil" serves as a pivotal moment for Season 23, bringing the Parker siblings face to face with old family wounds.
Harriet has become almost the last remaining member of the Parker family at the beginning of the season and believed for a day that "Aldie" had died in an explosion. This latest case forces the leader of the Major Crimes Response Team to balance between delivering justice and avoiding unnecessary risks. This balance becomes even more crucial when a case turns personal. The clip ends just before Parker commits to trusting the legal system or not.
NCIS has not seen a season like the 23rd since it began as a spin-off of JAG in 2003. Created by Donald P. Bellisario and Don McGill, this long-running procedural drama has surpassed its 500th episode milestone this year, a success that has come with significant changes. The season concludes with the shocking death of FBI Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll). Alongside Cole, Sean Murray, Wilmer Valderrama, Brian Dietzen, Diona Reasonover, and Katrina Law will continue with the series into Season 24 and beyond.
There is not only one series change in the NCIS universe. Three years after the closure of NCIS: Los Angeles, series star and Emmy nominee LL COOL J was announced last month to reprise his role as Sam Hanna in a new spin-off. The new series, titled NCIS: New York, will bring him back to his hometown, leading a new team tracking maritime crimes around one of the world's busiest cities, alongside a brave agent played by Scott Caan. This new branch, directed by Kingdom creator Byron Balasco, will be positioned before NCIS: Origins at 9 PM this fall, paving the way for the mid-season premiere of NCIS: Sydney.
