Natalie Portman announced in an exclusive statement to Harper's Bazaar that she is expecting her third child. The actress expressed that she is expecting a child with French music producer Tanguy Destable and feels "very lucky" and "grateful" about this situation. The 44-year-old Portman said, "Tanguy and I are very excited" while sharing the news.
While discussing her thoughts on pregnancy, Portman emphasized how difficult it has been to conceive in the past, noting that many loved ones have experienced this, and she wants to be respectful about the topic. She stated, "It’s a beautiful, joyous thing but it’s not easy at the same time. I know how lucky I am, I’m very aware of it and I feel very grateful."
The actress mentioned that she has more energy during this pregnancy compared to the previous one and is dedicating time to exercises like swimming and Gyrotonics to stay strong. Living in Paris, Portman jokingly added, "In France, a full term is considered 41 weeks instead of 40, so I have an extra week to be pregnant this time."
Portman is taking time to focus on her pregnancy after completing two projects with her production company MountainA. She will play the role of an irritable art gallery owner in the absurdist comedy "The Gallerist," which will be released this year. Additionally, she will star alongside Mark Ruffalo, Meg Ryan, and Rashida Jones in Netflix's romantic comedy "Good Sex," set to premiere in early 2027. This film is written and directed by Lena Dunham.
Portman has two children from her previous marriage to choreographer Benjamin Millepied.
