Mustafa Avkıran joins the cast of Uzak Şehir
As preparations for the third season of Uzak Şehir continue, another experienced name has joined the cast. According to Birsen Altuntaş's report, Mustafa Avkıran has reached an agreement with the production and will appear before the audience in the role of Kartal in the series filmed in Mardin.
No official announcement has been made from the production side yet. It has not been clarified in which episode Kartal will appear or whether he has any connection to the Albora or Baybars families. What is known for now is that the character is one of the new names being prepared for the third season.
Familiar with family and power stories
Mustafa Avkıran's arrival in Uzak Şehir also reminds us of the roles he has previously excelled in.
In Kuzey Güney, Avkıran was at the center of a harsh family dynamic as Sami Tekinoğlu, caught between two brothers, while in Çukur, he portrayed Cengiz Erdenet, the father of the Erdenet family. In Yeni Gelin, he again appeared as a character at the head of a large family in the role of Kalender Bozok.
Uzak Şehir tells a story built around large families, power struggles, and unresolved issues from the past. This similarity makes Avkıran's role as Kartal intriguing; however, there is currently no confirmed information that the character will be a family elder or a rival in the same vein.
The cast for the third season is expanding
Uzak Şehir completed its second season with the 63rd episode. After the season finale, some characters are leaving the story, while changes are being made to the cast for the new period.
Mustafa Avkıran has also joined the newly announced actors for the third season. Thus, the production is preparing to expand the new story not only based on the ongoing conflicts of existing characters but also with different names.
Box Office Türkiye also reported that Avkıran has joined the cast as Kartal, highlighting that the actor will once again be part of a strong television project after recent years in Leyla: Hayat... Aşk... Adalet and Sahtekarlar.
Who Kartal is remains a mystery for now
The biggest gap regarding the new character lies here. Kartal's profession, past, connections with other characters, and how many episodes he will stay in the series have not been disclosed.
Therefore, there is not enough data to define the character as a “new enemy,” “ağa,” or the main villain of the season just yet. How Avkıran will be utilized in the third season of Uzak Şehir will become clearer with new information from the production.
Mustafa Avkıran's participation has already become one of the notable casting moves for the third season. After a television career spanning from Yaprak Dökümü to Kuzey Güney, and from Çukur to Yeni Gelin, the actor is now entering the world of Uzak Şehir, which is set in Mardin.
