Miles Teller Earned from The Long Drink Company's $325 Million Sale — But "I Won't Retire from Acting"
The Hollywood Reporter
Miles Teller joined the ranks of celebrities entering the adult beverage industry in 2019. He wasn’t the first to do so, but he also acquired a minority stake in The Long Drink Company. The company produces The Long Drink, a ready-to-drink spritzer that comes from Finland and contains gin and grapefruit soda. Now, Teller has become one of the few celebrities to earn significant money from beverage deals. Earlier this week, The Finnish Long Drink was purchased for $325 million by Mark Anthony Group of Companies, the producer of the leading hard seltzer brand, White Claw.
Teller declined to elaborate on the acquisition, stating, "I really can’t talk about the numbers." He added, "I was always taught that this isn’t a good way to make a living. The only thing I can say is that I won’t be retiring from acting anytime soon." Such equity moves are rarer than many might think. Often, A-list actors, singers, and athletes who endorse brands believe that consumers seeing their recognizable faces in just a few Instagram videos should significantly impact purchasing habits.
In recent years, the industry has seen examples like Drake’s whiskey, Justin Timberlake’s tequila, and Channing Tatum’s vodka. These products filled the shelves but quietly disappeared shortly after. In contrast, Teller has taken a much more active approach. He toured the country, appearing at busy bars on college campuses in Columbus, Bloomington, and Ann Arbor. He distributed products at golf tournaments outside Reno and signed merchandise. He even went so far as to write humorous ads for campaigns.
