Milena Smit shared her relationship with the famous director Pedro Almodóvar and her role in his new film. One summer, while Smit's sister and niece were swimming in the pool at Almodóvar's house, the young actress suddenly found herself alone with the host. Almodóvar approached her, stepping away from the other guests to share some exciting news. "I wrote a character for you in my new film," Smit recalls him saying. "I created this character inspired by your tone of voice, your walk, and your breathing," she adds. Smit expressed this moment by saying, "I feel like I'm in a dream!"

29-year-old Smit entered this industry completely by chance. While working as a model in Madrid, she was discovered on Instagram to star in David Victori's 2020 thriller "Cross the Line." Her performance caught the attention of a cult director, leading her to co-star with Penélope Cruz in the 2021 Oscar-nominated film "Parallel Mothers." This marked the beginning of a significant artistic friendship for Smit.

Smit admits that understanding her relationship with Almodóvar is challenging. "Pedro has this kindness. He is so gentle," she says. "'Parallel Mothers' was my second film, and everything was just starting; it was a bit overwhelming. Now when I look back, I think, 'How did I dare to do this?'" Smit expresses that she feels quite happy and proud of her youth.
