David E. Kelley's new comedy series "Margo's Got Money Troubles" has quickly climbed the viewing charts on Apple TV, surpassing the platform's popular sci-fi productions "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" and "For All Mankind". Premiering with its first three episodes on April 15, the series is a testament to its creator's versatility. In recent years, Kelley has brought thrilling series like "Big Little Lies", "Anatomy of a Scandal", and "Presumed Innocent" to audiences, while also introducing crime series like "Love & Death" and "The Calling". In the 1990s, he made a name for himself with productions like "Doogie Howser, M.D." and "The Practice".
The series stars Elle Fanning, who was recently nominated for an Oscar, alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman, Nicole Kidman, Greg Kinnear, and Michael Angarano. This marks Kelley's fourth collaboration with Kidman after "Big Little Lies", "The Undoing", and "Nine Perfect Strangers". "Margo's Got Money Troubles" revolves around a young woman who becomes pregnant and turns to OnlyFans to support herself. A similar theme was touched upon in HBO's "Euphoria", which premiered last week, where Sydney Sweeney's character expressed interest in becoming an OnlyFans model.
The series will wrap up its eight-episode first season on May 20 and currently holds a "Certified Fresh" rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. In a review by critics, it was noted that "The production stands out with its rich characters and dramatic scenes, showcasing its success thanks to emotional depth, realistic performances, and brilliant storytelling." Analyzing the viewing data on the platform, "Margo's Got Money Troubles" is already among the most-watched series on Apple TV, trailing only behind the second season of "Your Friends & Neighbors", which stars Jon Hamm.
