Michael Bay's Iconic Transformers Movie is Leaving Peacock
Collider
The original Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay will soon be removed from the Peacock platform. Released in 2007 and the highest-rated film in the series, it will no longer be available for viewing on the platform as of May 1. With a score of 57% on Rotten Tomatoes, this blockbuster is the most beloved installment of the Transformers franchise, reflecting all the characteristics of Bay's cinematic style.
Adapted from Hasbro's famous toy brand, Transformers achieved great success in cinema. The film, starring Shia LaBeouf, highlighted the actor whom director Steven Spielberg chose as Hollywood's new face. The cast also includes names like Megan Fox, John Turturro, Jon Voight, Josh Duhamel, and Tyrese Gibson. Made with a budget of approximately $200 million, the film grossed over $700 million worldwide.
Following the success of Transformers, Michael Bay directed sequels such as Revenge of the Fallen, Dark of the Moon, Age of Extinction, and The Last Knight. Except for the last film, all productions achieved significant commercial success, particularly the third and fourth films, which surpassed $1 billion globally. However, as the series progressed, it faced criticism, and the original vision gradually faded away.
Two reboots have been made following the Transformers series. The franchise was revived with Bumblebee, directed by Travis Knight, and Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, directed by Steven Caple Jr. However, the original Transformers movie and all other installments of the series will be removed from Peacock on May 1. After this date, you will need to access the first film of the series from other platforms.
