Ladies First is a comedy adapted from the 2018 French film. The movie tells the story of a self-absorbed and sexist male executive. The main character, Damien, finds himself in a world completely dominated by women after hitting his head one day. While this story contains all the expected sarcastic elements, it offers viewers more wise smiles; there aren't many genuine laughs. Directed by Thea Sharrock, this Netflix comedy features a cast of famous British actors, but this does not lighten the weight of the script.

Sacha Baron Cohen plays the character of Damien without resorting to the usual vocal and physical transformations. Damien stands out with his misogynistic attitudes and flirtatious lifestyle. Eager for a promotion that he hopes to take from his boss Charles Dance, Damien confidently struts through the office to the tune of "Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?" However, the sexist attitudes behind this confidence negatively affect his relationships with his colleagues.

Damien, who displays an extremely contemptuous attitude towards the character Alex, played by Rosamund Pike, worsens the situation during a joint advertising campaign. Frustrated by Damien's behavior, Alex is forced to quit her job. This incident marks the beginning of the challenges Damien faces in a world ruled by women.

Ladies First stands out as a production that prompts thoughts on gender equality alongside humor. However, many of the comedic elements in the film are predictable, making it difficult to meet viewers' expectations. This may diminish the enjoyment that audiences derive from the film.
