KATSEYE Dazzles at the 2026 AMAs with "Pinky Up" Performance
The Hollywood Reporter
The girl group KATSEYE took the stage at the 2026 American Music Awards (AMAs) to perform their latest single, "Pinky Up." The group consists of six members: Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia, and Yoonchae. KATSEYE was nominated for three awards in the categories of Best New Artist, Best Music Video, and Best Emerging Pop Artist. However, the group performed with five members on stage as Manon is currently on a brief hiatus.
The performance of "Pinky Up" kicked off with a tea party filled with giant teddy bears, as the group energetically danced toward the center of the stage. Their performance was packed with "pinky up" moments, featuring bright pink decor and teddy bears in the background. This visual spectacle received great acclaim from the audience.
KATSEYE gained significant recognition last year with their viral single "Gnarly." The sharing of their energetic and eye-catching performances on social media boosted the group's popularity. Their subsequent song, "Gabriela," earned them a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and marked their entry into the Billboard Hot 100 chart. "Gabriela" remained on the chart for 28 weeks.
The group was formed through a joint venture between K-pop giant Hybe and American music company Geffen Records, aiming to create a global girl group using the K-pop model. The members were selected through a competition program called Dream Academy, which was a significant step toward the group's ultimate debut. KATSEYE continues to solidify its place in the music world by contributing to the international representation of K-pop.
