Julia Louis-Dreyfus will showcase her first performance on Broadway in the play Other Desert Cities. She will be joined by renowned names such as Allison Janney and Ed Harris. Written by Jon Robin Baitz, the play will be directed by John Benjamin Hickey. Other Desert Cities will begin previews on September 29 and officially open on October 18. The play will run for a limited engagement of 16 weeks at the Hudson Theatre, concluding on January 17, 2027.

The play revolves around a family with political ties facing a crisis during Christmas Eve. The family is shaken when they learn that their daughter has written a book revealing family secrets. Other Desert Cities premiered off-Broadway in January 2011 and moved to Broadway later that year. The play was a finalist for the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Director John Benjamin Hickey began his Broadway directing career in 2022 with Plaza Suite, starring Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. Jon Robin Baitz expressed his excitement for the project, stating, "I had given up on imagining Other Desert Cities in New York, but John Hickey is like family to me, and I trust him completely." The play raises questions about confronting who we are and what we do, even 20 years later.
