Three-time Emmy winner Julia Garner will star and serve as a producer in the true crime drama series 'Guilty Creatures' being developed for Apple TV. The tech giant's streaming service has ordered the series based on Mikita Brottman's book 'Guilty Creatures: Sex, God, and Murder in Tallahassee, Florida'.

Craig Gillespie will direct the series. Stuart Zicherman will serve as the showrunner, while Sarah DeLappe will adapt the book. The production will be carried out by Tomorrow Studios. 'Guilty Creatures' will deeply explore the psychology of a passionate love affair between two young, sinful lovers who also fear God, and the murder that follows.

Brottman's book reveals the mystery of Mike Williams, who went missing in December 2000. While Mike's body was never found, five years later, Brian Winchester, a longtime friend of Mike, divorced his wife Kathy and married Mike's widow Denise. What happened to Mike will come to light 12 years later.

Tomorrow Studios developed the series through Garner's first-look deals with Alma Margo and Gillespie's Fortunate Jack Productions. Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Alissa Bachner will serve as producers for Tomorrow Studios. Garner, Zicherman, DeLappe, Gillespie, Annie Marter from Fortunate Jack, and Brottman are also part of the producing team.

Garner recently completed filming the series 'The Altruists' for Netflix, which focuses on the rise and fall of the cryptocurrency exchange FTX. Additionally, Garner's recent projects include 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps', Leigh Whannell's 'Wolf Man', and 'Inventi...'.
