Lionsgate has announced March 26, 2027, as the release date for the supernatural revenge thriller "Day Drinker," starring Johnny Depp. This date became available after the studio postponed the first part of "The Resurrection Of The Christ" to May.

The film, which also stars Madelyn Cline and Penélope Cruz, is directed by Marc Webb. The screenplay for "Day Drinker" was written by Zach Dean and produced by Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean, and Nathan Kahane, alongside the producers of the John Wick series, Basil Iwanyk and Erica Lee. The story revolves around a private yacht bartender (Cline) who encounters a mysterious guest (Depp) and unexpectedly connects with a crime figure (Cruz).

Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz have previously starred together in films such as "Blow," "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," and "Murder on the Orient Express." This film marks the fourth collaboration between the duo, generating significant excitement among fans.

Additionally, Lionsgate has moved the release date for "The Resurrection Of The Christ, Part Two" up by a year to May 2028. These changes seem likely to have a significant impact on the studio's future projects. The collaboration between Lionsgate and 30West in presenting "Day Drinker" will also play a major role in the film's promotion.
