Jennifer Aniston surprised viewers by asking Lisa Kudrow a question during the official The Comeback video podcast on HBO Max. In the series hosted by pop culture expert Evan Ross Katz, Aniston had the chance to relay a question from fans to her close friend Kudrow, who played the character Valerie Cherish during their Friends days.

At the end of the season finale, which also served as the series finale, Katz shocked the audience by showing a special video message prepared by Aniston. In the video, filmed on the set of The Morning Show, she began with, "Hello Valerie. My name is Jen Aniston, and I am a huge fan of yours," and then asked, "Are you lonely at the top of your success, or in the middle?"

Valerie Cherish, who was shocked to receive a question from such a famous person, responded with a smile. The character expressed her delight at Aniston seeing her as an equal, exclaiming, "Jennifer Aniston is talking to me as a friend." Cherish later requested a copy of the video to use on her social media accounts and even suggested a caption: "Me and my new friend are sitting at the top together."

This funny moment became even more meaningful when Cherish commented that her show How's That?! was filmed in Stage 24 of the same Warner Bros. Studio as Friends. Before the season premiere of The Comeback, Kudrow had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where she prepared a cover story. Aniston also joined the conversation by phone, explaining why she admired Kudrow and the character Cherish so much: "It breaks my heart. At the same time, it makes me laugh. Relatable, charming, and beloved."

The full podcast interview with The Comeback star and producer Dan Bucatinsky is available on the platform.
